Lexington Lodge #1’s 16th century pioneering roots have spawned a strong and vibrant Masonic heritage which echoes through the halls of history to this very day. From early struggles to bring the “light” of Masonry to a near virgin American wilderness, to the words of the “Great Compromiser,” U.S. statesman and orator and our own Past Grand Master Henry Clay, our Masonic tradition has been built upon the bedrock of becoming better people for a better world. As proud as we are of our past, we are humbled with the thought that it is merely a dim reflection of the great Masons who have gone on before us and cannot stand as the sole reason for Lexington Lodge #1’s continuing success. Just as a lodge hall is an empty building without its Craftsmen, it is our current membership that gives Lexington Lodge its continuing promise of a bright future. Those moral teachings and life lessons you first heard as a small boy at your family’s supper table are still very much in practice today at your local Masonic Lodge. Lodge attendance, like the weather, often fluctuates from a high to a low. Consider joining your Brothers in an evening at the lodge and come out as often as you can. The larger the gathering the richer the lodge experience for all. Don’t forget to invite your friends from other lodges, visitors are always welcome! One of us alone may not accomplish much but remember the snowflake that is so frail by itself and yet when it sticks with enough of its brothers can halt noon day traffic!
